Spotify, Canva, and Other Apps Can Now Connect to ChatGPT
OpenAI has officially integrated popular applications like Spotify and Canva with ChatGPT, enhancing user experience through its new Apps SDK. This exciting development was announced during OpenAI’s recent DevDay presentation and signifies a shift in how users will interact with their favorite services directly within the ChatGPT platform.
Users can now easily reference supported third-party apps during their Conversations. For instance, with Spotify, you can say, “Spotify, make a playlist for my party this Friday.” This functionality prompts users to connect their Spotify accounts to ChatGPT, enabling tailored recommendations based on mood, themes, or topics. After generating a playlist, the interface smoothly transitions users to Spotify for listening, bringing a seamless experience in music selection.
Spotify acknowledges that this integration is still in the early stages and promises ongoing enhancements to improve user interactions. OpenAI showcased other app integrations as well, including Canva, where users can create custom posters for their businesses directly through ChatGPT. Along with Spotify and Canva, applications like Coursera, Figma, Zillow, and soon, DoorDash, OpenTable, Target, and Uber are set to enhance the ChatGPT ecosystem.
As OpenAI prepares to accept app submissions for review later this year, the potential for even more diverse applications is on the horizon. This integration not only provides users with a unique, interactive ChatGPT experience but also opens new avenues for developers to monetize their work.
